Answers, already worked out
Every one of these runs the same engine as the planner. Change the inputs on any of them and the answer moves with you.
Can I retire at 55 with $1M?
160 scenarios pairing a retirement age with a portfolio, each solved against a horizon-adjusted withdrawal rate.
What do I need to spend $80k a year?
The grid inverted. Start from the spending and work back, with Social Security counted rather than ignored.
Is $1 million enough?
Answered from every 30-year retirement since 1928 rather than from a rule of thumb.
What do retirement taxes cost by state?
All 51 ranked on the same income. Texas lands 37th despite having no income tax.
When should I claim Social Security?
Nine claiming ages with the break-even shown twice: at face value, and discounted.
How much should I have saved by 40?
Computed from the engine, not quoted. The right multiple of salary rises with income.
What is my Coast FIRE number?
The balance that reaches retirement on compounding alone, at every age from 25 to 50.
How long if I save 30% of my income?
Ten savings rates, and the reason your salary never enters the calculation.
Does the 4% rule actually work?
Five withdrawal rates tested across four retirement lengths against real market history.
How we handle your data
We built RetireNumber with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought.
Do you link to my bank accounts?
No, never. We don't use Plaid, Yodlee or any account aggregation service. You enter your numbers manually, which means there's no connection to your actual accounts that could be compromised.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored securely in the cloud (Supabase) so you can access it from any device. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use row-level security so only you can access your data.
Can you see my financial information?
We can see that data exists in our database, but we don't access, analyze or sell your personal financial information. Your data is used solely to power your retirement projections.
Do you sell my data?
Absolutely not. We don't sell your data to advertisers, data brokers or anyone else. Our business model is simple: you pay for Pro features. That's it.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete individual plans from your dashboard, or delete your entire account from the account settings page. When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed.
What about ads and spam?
We don't show ads. We don't sell your email to marketers. We won't call you to upsell financial products. You might get occasional product update emails, but you can unsubscribe anytime.
