How RetireNumber works
RetireNumber stress-tests your retirement number with historical data and thousands of simulated futures so you can see when you might hit your goal and where your plan is fragile. No account linking, no rosy projections, just clear math.
1. Pick your number
You bring a target: for example, "I want $1.25 million by age 60." Don't have one? Tell us how much you want to spend each year and we'll calculate a target using the 4% rule or a custom withdrawal rate.
2. Enter your situation
Your age, current savings and how much you save each month. That's the baseline. We project your portfolio growth under multiple return paths: average, above average and below average, so you see the range, not just one line.
3. Stress-test it
We run Monte Carlo simulations (1,000 random futures) and historical backtests against 95+ years of real market data. You see your probability of success and what happened in the worst periods in history, not a single optimistic projection.
4. Go deeper (optional)
Add Social Security, model Roth conversions, compare withdrawal strategies, plug in life events like pensions or major expenses and run side-by-side scenario comparisons. Still your data, still no account linking.
